I’m Taren Kate, a hospitality brand designer with over 23 years in the industry. My background includes culinary, management, front-of-house, bartending, training, and beverage development. I’ve helped open restaurants, built cocktail programs, and learned that hospitality isn’t just service; it’s storytelling under pressure.
That understanding carried naturally into design.
While working nights and raising my son, I studied Graphic Design and Web Development, drawn to the same thing that pulled me into hospitality in the first place: connection. Design, like service, shapes how people feel, move, choose, and remember.
I later served as Senior Graphic Designer for Tavistock Restaurant Collection, leading branding and marketing design for 17+ restaurant concepts across menus, beverage labels, packaging, websites, and in-venue experiences. Designing at scale taught me how to balance creativity with clarity for brands that operate in the real world.
Today, I run a studio for hospitality brands seeking more than just safe design. I specialize in menus, beverage labels, and ongoing creative partnerships for restaurants, bars, and breweries.
